Here at Blissful Moments, we believe that when it comes to wax melts and candles, you should always receive high-quality wax melts with a strong fragrance throw that lasts long and can fill your home, making it smell beautiful for hours.
That's why we have designed our wax melts to be reusable multiple times before needing replacement, ensuring you always get your money's worth from our soy wax melts and candle range. When you place your wax melt into a tea light burner or electric burner, the generated heat will gradually melt your wax melt, releasing the fragrance and making your home smell amazing.
How many times can I reuse my wax melts before I should replace with a new fragrance?
How often you reuse and replace your wax melts with a new fragrance all depends on personal preference. Every time you reuse a wax melt the fragrance oil contained within the wax melt is slowly released into the room which is why the wax melt fragrance begins to become weaker.
Typically you can reuse your wax melts 3 - 4 times using a 4 hour tea light but the times for how long your wax melts can last, can vary depending on the type of burner you use, whether you use an electric burner or a tea light and the wax melt itself.
We recommend replacing your wax melt with a new fresh scent once you have performed a cold sniff test and feel that all of the fragrance has evaporated.
Here is our wax melt burn time guide for how many hours our wax melts you can reuse your wax melts before needing to replace your wax melts:
- 2 Heart Wax Melts: 6-8 Hours
- 5 Flower Melts: 20-30 Hours
- Clamshells: 50-60 Hours
- Snapbars: 70-80 Hours
Can I use my wax melts more than once?
Yes, you can reuse your wax melts more than once. The reason is that, unlike candles, the fragrance contained within the wax melt evaporates when heated up in your tea light or electric burner.
We've designed four different wax melt styles, each intended to be reused multiple times. Depending on the wax melt style you are using, you can enjoy up to 80 hours of fragrance burn time.
Wax melt style brief description:
2 Heart Melts: There are soy wax shaped like cute hearts contained our sample boxes which offer between 6-8 hours of burn time per heart melt pack.
5 Flower Melts: Wax melts shaped into five individual flowers are easier to use without the need to snap any wax. These flower melts can provide you with between 20-30 hours of fragrance burn time.
Snapbars: One of the most popular wax melt shapes, our snapbars have five rectangular segments, giving you the ability to break them up and use them at different times or in all of your electric or tea burners throughout your home. With our snapbars, we advise using two segments per burner, which will give you a burn time between 50-60 hours.
Clamshells: These are six thick, cubed-shaped pieces of wax, which, just like snapbars, can be portioned out and used throughout your home. Providing you with 70-80 hours of burn time. Depending on the size of your burner, you will only need to use one to two cubes from our clamshells.
For all our wax melts, you can keep reusing and burning them until the fragrance has been completely released. However, please note that the more times you reuse and burn your wax melts, the weaker the fragrance scent throw will be due to the fragrance evaporating with each burn session. The best way to determine if you can still use your wax melts is by performing a cold sniff test. Once your wax melt has cooled down and become hard again, simply smell it a couple of times to gauge whether there is enough fragrance for you to reuse it.
How many times can you use your wax melts?
The number of times you can use and reuse your wax melts depends on how much fragrance is left within them. Every time you reuse the same wax melt, more of the fragrance oil is released.
How do I make my wax melts last longer?
We've put together 3 ways which you can help to make your wax melts last longer:
- Store your wax melts in a cool place out of direct sunlight. This will prevent them from inadvertently warming up in sunlight and losing fragrance when not in use.
- Ensure you are using the correctly sized tealight burner for your wax melts. Wax melt burners come in various shapes and sizes. If you use a smaller burner, like an oil burner with the burner dish closer to the tealight, it will increase the wax melt's scent throw due to increased heat but may reduce the number of times you can reuse your wax melts.
- Always consider the type of wax your wax melts are made from, as different wax types can affect burn time, scent throw, and the number of times you can reuse them.
- Paraffin wax provides a strong scent throw but evaporates fragrance quickly, reducing how many times you can use your wax melts.
- Soy wax melts have a lower melting point, allowing them to provide an incredible scent throw without needing to reach the same temperature as other wax melt types like paraffin and beeswax. As a result, you can enjoy a lovely smelling home and reuse your wax melts much more before they lose their fragrance.
